Privacy Policy

Papercuts Tools is operated by Yug Chandak, India. This page explains what data the site handles and why. The short version: we collect as little as possible, and nothing you paste into a tool is kept.

What you paste into tools

Browser-only tools (for example the JSON Formatter) process your input entirely on your device; it never leaves your browser. AI-backed tools send the text you submit to our server, which forwards it to our AI provider (OpenRouter and the model it routes to) to generate the response. We do not store inputs or outputs after the request completes. If you use your own OpenRouter key, requests go directly from your browser to OpenRouter.

Usage limits

To enforce the free daily limit we store a per-day counter keyed by your IP address (or your Pro key). Counters are deleted after the day ends. No browsing history is recorded.

Payments and Pro keys

Checkout is handled by Razorpay on their pages under their privacy policy. Razorpay passes us a payment reference and, where you entered one, the email address you paid with, so we can issue and support your Pro key. We never receive card, UPI or bank details. Your Pro key is stored in your browser’s local storage so you stay unlocked; you can remove it at any time from any tool page.

Analytics

We record which tool pages are viewed and, if present, the ref or UTM parameter in the link that brought you here. This is a simple counter, not a tracking profile, and no third-party analytics or advertising scripts are loaded.

Email

If you join the waitlist we store your email address only to tell you about new tools. Every message has an unsubscribe option, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

Where data lives

The site and its database run on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States. Data is protected in transit with TLS and at rest by the provider’s encryption.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing by emailing papercliptools@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.
