What goes in each job file
The records the federal rule asks firms to keep, captured in the order the job happens.
Confirm the job and the renovator
Record the address, year built, scope and dates, and attach a copy of the certified renovator's training certificate.
Pamphlet delivery
The owner, and in rentals an adult occupant too, signs for the Renovate Right pamphlet within 60 days before work. Or log the certificate of mailing or attempted delivery.
Test kit results, if you use kits
Log the kit manufacturer and model, each component tested, where, and the result, with a photo of every swab.
Signs, containment and waste
Photograph the warning signs and containment at setup, and note how waste was contained on site and in transport.
Worker training
The certified renovator records the topics covered for each non-certified worker, with a sign-off in English or Spanish.
Cleaning verification
Record each windowsill and floor section's verification card result and the cloths used, then sign the renovator's certification.
The result: one dated PDF per job to keep, and a copy for the owner and occupant.

Is JobFile available today?
No. JobFile is in development and not available yet. Reserving a founding spot is free and needs no card; we'll email you when it's ready.
Is JobFile approved by EPA?
No. JobFile is not affiliated with or endorsed by EPA. It organizes the records you enter into one file; whether a job complies depends on the work practices your crew actually follows.
Which jobs are covered by the RRP rule?
Renovations for pay that disturb painted surfaces in housing or child-occupied facilities built before 1978, except zero-bedroom units and housing for the elderly or people with disabilities where no child under 6 lives. Minor repair and maintenance is exempt: 6 square feet or less per room inside, or 20 square feet or less outside, and never window replacement. Jobs where a certified inspector or a certified renovator's test kits show the components are free of lead-based paint are also exempt.
Does it cover my state?
JobFile follows the federal RRP rule. Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and the Bois Forte Band run their own programs instead of EPA's, with their own certification and record requirements. JobFile doesn't support state-specific records there yet.
What about HUD-assisted housing?
The HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule adds stricter requirements, including a lower de minimis threshold, worker training beyond on-the-job training, and clearance testing. JobFile's federal RRP job file doesn't cover those.
Do I still hand out the paper pamphlet?
Yes. You still provide the Renovate Right pamphlet before work starts. JobFile records that it was delivered and acknowledged.
Who keeps the records?
Your firm does. Federal rules require keeping RRP records for 3 years after a job is finished, and some states require longer. You'll be able to download each job's PDF and export your whole archive at any time, including if you cancel.
